ABOUT ENCOL |

|
The idea to establish a European Network on COgnitive Learning research (ENCOL) formed at the occasion of a European summer school on “Learning: the
acquisition of behavioral competence” that was held at the University of Wuerzburg on September 22nd to September 27th 2000 (see the brief report under EVENTS). There were so many inspiring discussions among the participants that we felt it
would be worth to continue the exchange of ideas and experimental approaches among colleagues who are involved in different branches of cognitive learning research like animal learning, human learning,
neuropsychology of learning, modeling, learning in animats, etc.
ENCOL now provides a platform for doing so. As a start, we have registered all participants of the summer school as members of ENCOL (see
MEMBERS). The Network shall increase, of course. Thus, all colleagues who are active in cognitive learning research are invited to take part.
We hope that ENCOL will develop into a lively forum where members
discuss issues they regard as being of general interest, point to new publications, announce related events, inform about vacant jobs in the field etc. The European scientific community of cognitive learning
research will come together more closely through this and we will possibly come to organize regular workshops to meet personally.

How to use ENCOL
If you want to become a member, send a message to encol@psychologie.uni-wuerzburg.de with your research interests, email, and website address so that we can add you to the list of members
If you want to announce any kind of information (a
hint to a new publication, a vacant job, a forthcoming event, an interesting link, etc.), send a corresponding message to encol@psychologie.uni-wuerzburg.de, and the information will be presented under either of the
branches NEWS, EVENTS, or LINKS.
If you want to discuss a topic on the Web, visit our Discussion Board at the PANEL and follow the instructions for registration and posting a new topic.
Suggestions how to improve ENCOL are welcome. |
