The movie shows how SURE_REACH exploits motor redundancy in some movements tasks:

  1. 1.The model assumes that motor learning may be based on any kind of movements.
  2. 2.Movements to the same (hand-)target terminate in postures that are close to the posture before movement onset. This reduces trajectory length and movement time.
  3. 3.Besides a hand-target, additional kinematic („move to target and flex elbow“) or motor constraints („move to target but don‘t move wrist“) can be fulfilled.
  4. 4.Obstacles may be avoided.
  5. 5.One movements can even incorporate the anticipated requirements of the next movement.
